Domestic and Family Violence Forum

DFV Forum 2014 Registration Form As part of the Blue Mountains Coalition Against Violence and Abuse (CAVA), we are hosting a one-day domestic and family violence conferencein Springwood on the 13th November 2014. We will be looking at ways to prevent domestic and family violence as well as how do we best respond in a way that minimises trauma and builds safety for women and children.

We have a range of great guest speakers and hope to have a very interesting and inspiring audience. Once the program has been finalised we will post it to the web.

The conference is open to workers and services who work with women, children and families. We are hoping to have workers from the Nepean-Blue Mountains LHD area, western Sydney, Lithgow, Bathurst and the Central west as well as other areas attend.

The last conference we ran in 2010 was well received by all involved. We had around 200 participants and their feedback was overwhelmingly positive. We have gone back to the feedback to guide us in our decision-making with this year’s conference and we are hoping it will be as successful.

The forum has been sponsored by Blue Mountains & Penrith Clubs Grants programs, Blue Mountains Council & Hawkesbury Soroptimist International.

This event  has been organised by Blue Mountains Women’s Health and Resource Centre, Blue Mountains Women’s Domestic Violence Court Advocacy Service, Blue Mountains Family Support Service, Richmond  Women’s Cottage, Penrith Domestic Violence Services,  Penrith Women’s Health Centre and the Platform Youth Service.
