Service Description
Art Space is a weekly creative youth workshop hosted in centre at Katoomba. Sessions run every Thursday 3.30-5.30pm during the school term and is open to any young woman, or individual falling under the trans umbrella aged 12-25. Art Space is facilitated by a passionate group of women under 35 who work ongoingly with BMWHRC. Our current facilitators are: - Ailie, an established working artist, activist and violence prevention worker - Rachael, an experienced youth worker, LGBTQIA+ advocate & counsellor in training - Sian, a Social Science graduate, experienced community service worker and youth wellbeing advocate Art Space is a free service and is hosted during the Centres youth drop-in clinic hours, so participants can also access a doctor, nurse and counselling if needed. If you would like to attend Art Space as a participant you can drop into the Centre on a Thursday, 124 Lurline Street Katoomba from 3.30pm during the school term. Please keep in mind we always do our best to comply to COVID restrictions, so masks and capacity limits may be required. We do not require Art Space participants to be vaccinated, however all our facilitators are triple-dose vaccinated, so please take that into consideration when attending.
