COMMUNITY CONSULTATION
BMWHRC wants to hear from you!
The Blue Mountains Women’s Health & Resource Centre wants to hear from people who use our services, and from those who don’t, to help us understand how well we are meeting the community’s needs.
The Centre’s core function is to work with women who may face barriers to health and wellbeing.
These focus communities include women who are:
- experiencing socio-economic disadvantage
- Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women
- culturally and linguistically diverse women
- women with disability
- carers
- members of the LGBTQIA+ community
- living in Lithgow and remote areas of the Greater Blue Mountains.
The Centre is not a general practice. Our clinical team of women’s health general practitioners and women’s health nurse provide specialised sexual and reproductive health care across the lifespan.
To ensure that sharing your feedback is easy we will conduct this consultation using online and in-person surveys, focus groups, phone conversations and interviews, within the Katoomba Centre, via outreach and by attending community events.
We intend to be as inclusive and accessible as possible, meeting people where they are and listening in the ways that work best for them.
The consultation will begin in July 2025 and end in December 2025.
Your insights and experiences are deeply valued and will help guide the Centre’s priorities and service delivery.
We are committed to providing transparent feedback on what we learn through this process.
A summary of what you said, what we learnt and what we will do will be made available on our website and shared via social media.
We warmly welcome and will carefully consider all feedback. We also acknowledge that our capacity to act on every suggestion may be shaped by the resources available as well as by our funding guidelines.
We will attempt to respond to all feedback and offer services using the resources we have in ways that bring the greatest benefit to our focus communities.
If you have a question about the process, or need support to participate, please contact us reception@bmwhrc.org or 02 4782 5133 and one of our consultation team will get back to you.
Thank you for sharing your voice with us.
