The clinic is staffed by female doctors and registered nurses. Currently, our clinic team is taking appointments for Tuesdays & Thursdays. The clinical team is also available during our free Under 25s drop-in Clinic that runs every Thursday between 3:00pm - 5:00pm during the school term.
Please allow for a longer waiting times when seeing a doctor or nurse for the first time. All first appointments are for one hour. Subsequent appointments are half an hour. All clinic appointments are bulk-billed (free under medicare).

BMWHRC will make efforts to prioritise & accommodate clients from low-income households in accordance with our constitution. Please bring along your Healthcare card if you have one.

Insertion of contraceptives (eg. IUD, Implanon)

Menopause
Termination or pregnancy advice and referral
Women's health issues
Pelvic pain
Breast concerns eg breast lump
Vulval concerns and symptoms
Pregnancy care
Post-natal care
Breast cancer and ovarian cancer GP support
Menstrual concerns eg heavy or painful periods, bleeding outside the menstrual cycle
All clinical staff are trained in mental health and trauma sensitive practices
We also carry a limited supply of pregnancy testing kits, condoms, period products, dental dams & emergency supplies.
We also have emergency contraception (the morning after pill) available after consultation with a doctor or nurse.

This means we see women's health as including physical, emotional, social and cultural health & wellbeing.
Our nurses are qualified and experienced in all these areas and work closely with our doctors.
You will need to see a doctor if you require prescriptions, referrals, diagnosis or further investigation into an issue.

QUALITY IMPROVEMENT AND ACCREDITATION
BMWHRC receives government funding to provide free and low-cost services to our priority populations, recognising that certain groups need targeted and tailored services to be able to access health services equitably. To ensure that our centre maintains best practice in governance, management and service delivery we participate in accreditation reviews where we are assessed against national standards.
Our centre is currently accredited through AGPAL and has been assessed according to the RACGP 5th Edition Standards. To find out more about what this type of accreditation means for our clients please see this short video from AGPAL (above).
So we can deliver the best service for our clients we are always looking for ways we can improve. If you would like to give feedback or suggestions about our service at any time please use the online form or the feedback box in the centre.
