Service Description

Want to walk more, but not sure a walking group is for you? This one might be. Our Introductory Women’s Walking Group is designed for women who would like to be more active but want somewhere gentle, friendly and achievable to start. You don’t need to be fit or an experienced walker. You might be returning to physical activity after a break, building your confidence, looking for a gentle way to move more, or simply wanting some company while you walk. We’ll meet every Thursday morning from 10am–11am, starting 29 October 2027, for a walk of approximately one hour at a gentle pace of around 3 km per hour. We live in the Blue Mountains, so we can’t promise no hills! What we can promise is that we’ll choose routes with gentle gradients and manageable walking surfaces and tell you what to expect before each walk. Each week you’ll receive information about where we’re meeting, the distance and expected duration, hills and walking surfaces, parking, toilets and anything else you need to know to decide whether that week’s walk is right for you. We’ll stay together as a group, with a leader at the front and someone at the back wherever possible. You won’t need to worry about keeping up or being left behind. And because being active is about more than exercise, we’ll usually finish somewhere you can join us for an optional coffee and chat afterwards.
