Free Private Study Space
Our in-centre Study Hub has free desktop computers, a printer, Wifi & stationary available. You can book the room to yourself online or just ask one of our friendly staff for more info.
Assistance, Resources & Referral
We all go through tough times, but if you are struggling to access your basic needs we are here to help! We can assist you with all kinds of resources & if we can't help we will know someone who can. Just speak to one of our friendly staff or submit a private message via our contact page.

What's available in Centre?
We employ professional staff who provide a range of health and social services including the free young women's* health clinic, counselling, acupuncture, massage therapy, information and referral.
We also run a variety of workshops & classes each month. Check out our events calendar on the What's On page for info & regular updates.

Women's Health clinical team

Counselling at the Centre
We have a team of friendly, dedicated counsellors & mental health professionals that work for BMWHRC year round. We pride ourselves in providing trauma-informed care specialising in a range of issues.

8 sessions of counselling are available with some capacity for more sessions if needed.

Counselling is provided by Social Workers with experience in respectful, strengths based, trauma informed practice which honours each person’s unique experience.

If you would like counselling please ring reception for a telephone intake appointment. Our Intake worker will help you work out if our service is the best one for you.
Under 25's
We offer a free walk-in health clinic for young people 25 years and under every Thursday from 3.00 pm – 5.00 pm during the school term.
Women* under 25 can drop into our Katoomba centre and access a GP, Women's Health Nurse, Counsellors, information & resources without a pre-booked appointment.

Massage Therapy
BMWHRC provides remedial massage to women experiencing chronic pain and/or complex trauma and an assessment is undertaken by the Massage Therapist to determine eligibility.
Our aim is to:​

Improve sleep quality

Achieve greater flexibility

Release physical tension

Reduce back, neck and shoulder pain

Pregnant mothers to have a healthier, relaxed and comfortable pregnancy
The types of massage offered include: Remedial Massage, Swedish (relaxation) Massage and Pregnancy Massage. The Massage Therapist will conduct an initial consult and guide you through a treatment plan based on your needs.
Resources & Information
You can access the following at the Centre:
- A library from which you can borrow
- A washing machine, dryer, shower and essential hygiene supplies
- Access to a BBQ on weekdays
- Computers, printers and scanners and we can also assist you with additional data for your phones if necessary
- Access to information about your physical and mental wellbeing and local services best placed to assist you.
- You can also just come and sit in the garden and have a cup of something warm.
Study Hub
Study Hub is a private space equipped with 2 desktop computers, a printer, Wifi, kitchenette, stationery & other educational resources. The space can accommodate up to 4 people for group projects and can be booked for two hour sessions via our bookings page.
Study Hub can be used for study as well as working on your resume or ‘working from home’ if you need access to data and/or a printer/scanner etc.
